We believe that being multilingual is a key element of global citizenship, as it allows our students to communicate effectively with their peers at St. Andrews Dusit and beyond school across work and travel. All primary students enjoy Thai lessons taught by native specialists, developing a greater appreciation for the culture of the country we live in. Students have the option of learning a third language in either French or Mandarin, two of the most widely spoken language worldwide, giving our students unparalleled opportunity for success in our interconnected global economy.
All languages benefit from their own specialist teaching rooms equipped with the latest books, games, interactive and online resources to support the teaching and learning of each language. Designed to meet the academic needs of students at various levels of the English language acquisition process, our specialist support program improves students’ abilities in reading, writing, listening and speaking until they are ready to excel in our mainstream programs.
As a diverse global community we welcome interest from parents on additional language options and tutoring.
At St. Andrews Dusit, we recognise the importance of sports participation and regular physical activity, not only in improving strength and fitness, but also for its positive effects in developing personal and social skills, and resilience skills such as self-motivation and self-belief.
All Primary students enjoy specialist swimming lessons, refining stroke proficiency and building their strength and core stamina at our practice pool until they are ready to swim with ease and efficiency within our 25m competitive swimming pool. Our robust Physical Education (PE) Program develops our students’ teamwork, leadership and athletic skills across a wide range of sports. Basketball, tennis, and badminton take place within our indoor sports hall, dance and gymnastics at our dance studio, and football and rugby at our outdoor sports field.
We also encourage our students to challenge themselves by representing the school in the TISAC league (Thailand International Schools Activity Conference), extending their sport-specific abilities in friendly and competitive fixtures against sports teams from other international schools across the country.
Digital literacy is integral to work and life, and our 21st century education teaches students to use technology confidently, responsibly and constructively. All St. Andrews Dusit students enjoy an interactive ICT program, benefitting from the use of Promethean Smart Boards and table devices available in every classroom. To support this program, we offer a dedicated ICT suite equipped with the latest resources and electronic research tools to ensure our students gain an appreciation of how to apply technology in their learning, communication and in everyday life.
Research has shown that a strong arts education not only helps to develop a child’s senses and self-expression, but it also has a direct link to mental development, intelligence and memory. This is why all St. Andrews Dusit children enjoy specialist music, drama and visual arts lessons.
Our music curriculum focuses on vocal skills, composition, group work and listening skills, where students are exposed to an extensive range of percussion instruments, keyboards, recorders and ukuleles. From Year 3, all students master a selected specialist music instrument, with many extending their performance abilities in our orchestra.
In the visual arts, students explore colors, textures and a variety of media through painting, drawing and sculpting activities. Theater arts play an equally important role in our primary curriculum, with many of our students choosing to extend their speech and self-expression skills in our highly popular drama performances.
